Linden woman charged in three-vehicle accident

Daily staff report

A Linden woman was charged with reckless driving in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 66 in Fauquier County at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

State police Sgt. F.L. (Les) Tyler said authorities issued the summons to Cynthia Jo Baker, 54, the driver of a 2002 Dodge pickup that crossed over the median from the westbound lane to the eastbound lane at mile marker 25.

Tyler said Baker's pickup collided with a 2004 Ford Expedition driven by Kenneth Sager of Connecticut. Tyler said an adult female passenger and four children also occupied the Expedition.

After colliding with the Expedition, Baker's pickup also collided with an eastbound 2007 Mercedes Benz driven by Florian Schleiff of West Virginia, according to state police. A female passenger in the Mercedes, Barbara Schleiff, was flown to Inova hospital, Tyler said.

Tyler said no alcohol was involved, but fatigue may have contributed to the accident.

He said Sager and one of the children in the van were taken to Fauquier Hospital.
