Strasburg woman dies in two-vehicle crash

Daily staff report

A 59-year-old Strasburg woman died and a Toms Brook man was charged with three offenses in a two-vehicle crash early Monday morning on U.S. 11 just north of Mount Hebron Road.

Sgt. F.L. (Les) Tyler of the Virginia State Police reported that Jeanetta Debra Stickley, 59, died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver of the other car, Nathaniel Scott Garcia, 23, was taken to Winchester Medical Center.

Tyler said Garcia's 2001 Saturn station wagon was traveling southbound on U.S. 11 around 12:05 a.m. just after midnight when it crossed the center line and hit Stickley's northbound 2006 Hyundai Elantra.

Trooper D.A. Mauck of the state police charged Garcia with involuntary manslaughter, drunk driving and possession of marijuana.
