Former "Good Morning America" host and New York Times best-selling author Joan Lunden will speak at the grand opening of The Village at Orchard Ridge on June 17. The retirement community is celebrating the recent opening of its on-campus health center, featuring assisted living memory care.

Customers of Columbia Gas of Virginia can expect to see their monthly natural gas bills increase by an average of $2.19 when the company adjusts its costs this June. By law, the costs are adjusted to reflect the price the company pays rather than to increase its profit. Columbia Gas of Virginia services areas including Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.

The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
has named Troy Newbraugh as its new director of development. Newbraugh has served as the director of development at Timber Ridge School in Cross Junction since 1997. He succeeds founding Development Director Frances Crawford, who will retire June 30.

For the 10th consecutive year, Valley Home Care has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition by the American Association for Respiratory Care. To earn this designation, Valley Home Care met strict safety and quality standards related to the provision of respiratory care services, including national accreditation. Valley Home Care provides home respiratory care, medical equipment and supplies from locations in Winchester, Woodstock and Front Royal.

Katrina Smith, sales associate with Winchester Long & Foster/Webber & Associates, was awarded her associate broker's license by the Virginia Real Estate Board. Smith has been a Realtor since 2005 and serves as president of the Blue Ridge Association of Realtors.
