Top of Virginia Chamber hosting business expo
By Sally Voth
Area businesses and the public are invited to the annual Regional Business Expo on May 23 at Shenandoah University.
The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber is putting on the business-to-business trade show, which is from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Brandt Student Center.
Chamber marketing and communications director Tony Baker said Thursday that the annual event is scheduled for after the university's students are done for the spring semester.
So far, more than 50 area businesses have signed up to participate to show their products and services, and there are still spaces available for vendors, according to a news release.
"We don't get a lot of consumers in, but there are some," Baker said.
He said while participating businesses don't want to be overrun with people just coming in for free items, they would welcome "people that are looking to maybe do business with some of the businesses there, people that maybe are coming in to see what services people provide."
Baker said a wide variety of businesses will be at the expo, including banks, food-related businesses and radio stations.
Prior to the trade show, there will be a speaker lunch featuring a Valley Health presentation on "Employee Wellness and your Bottom Line," according to Baker.
The expo is free, but lunch tickets are $20. To register for lunch, call the chamber at (540) 662-4118, or go to www.regionalchamber.biz. Prospective vendors should call the chamber.
