Woodstock man jailed on firearms charges

Daily staff report

Strasburg police arrested a Woodstock man Sunday afternoon and charged him with brandishing a firearm and reckless use of a firearm after investigating a report of a man pulling a loaded gun and pointing it at another man during an argument.

Chief Tim Sutherly said the defendant, Brandon Christopher Watson-Kaufman, 28, of 161 Lora Drive, was belligerent and charged with public intoxication.

Sutherly said officers confronted Watson-Kaufman after arriving at the Holtzman Express store, 3389 Old Valley Pike, around 3 p.m. Sutherly said officers found a .40 caliber handgun in Watson-Kaufman's vehicle after he told them where they could find it.

Sutherly said the loaded gun also matched the description of the firearm described by the person who called police.

Sutherly said Watson-Kaufman was taken to Shenandoah County and placed on a $3,000 secured bond.
