ABC Chiropractic in Winchester is collecting new shoes of all sizes and styles through Aug. 29 as part of the "Love Has No Color" project. The shoes will be donated to the Fort Peck Reservation in Wolf Point, Mont., where 65-75 percent of the children are considered needy and 71 percent of children are raised by a single parent.

"We bring a spark of hope every time we come," said Dr. Meredith Oudt in a press release; last year, her office sent dozens of boxes loaded with shoes to the reservation. "For many of these children, these shoes are the only Christmas gift they will receive."

For every gift of at least five pairs of shoes, the donor will receive a gift certificate for a comprehensive new patient exam, including X-rays, and a raffle ticket for prizes. Donations can be dropped off at the office at 2654 Valley Ave., Suite E, Winchester.
