Shenandoah County authorities arrested and charged two men at Love’s Travel Center in Toms Brook on Monday afternoon after a confrontation involving a robbery with a stun gun and more than $1,000 damage to a vehicle.
Dylan John Knouse, 20, of 1391 Mt. Olive Road, Toms Brook, was charged with robbery by force and assault and battery, according to authorities. Reo Mare Reidhead, 23, of 1386 Battlefield Road, Strasburg, faces charges of hit and run and reckless driving from the same incident.
Authorities also arrested a juvenile, whose age was not available, on an outstanding detention order.
Sheriff’s Office Capt. Wesley Dellinger said Tuesday that deputies received a report around 4 p.m. Monday of people arguing and creating a disturbance at the truck stop.
Dellinger said the confrontation broke out when Knouse and Reidhead met at the truck stop to exchange unspecified property. Authorities accuse Knouse of taking an undisclosed amount of cash from a third party during the incident.
Both men have court dates set for 9 a.m. Aug. 9 in General District Court.
Dellinger said the Sheriff’s Office called Warren County investigators to the scene. Those investigators had had been in the midst of another robbery investigation involving a stun gun earlier Monday.
A man with a stun gun used it to take an undisclosed amount of cash from a store manager outside of the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaurant in Front Royal, according to town police. The suspect is still at large.
