After a five-month search, John Huddy has been chosen to replace Trish Ridgeway as director of the Handley Regional Library in Winchester. Huddy will begin working at the library on Sept. 16, two weeks before Ridgeway retires on Oct. 1. Huddy currently serves as the branch manager of the Gum Spring Library in Loudoun County and has worked with the county's library system for the past 11 years. He grew up in Fairfax County and has a bachelor of arts degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio as well as a master's of library science from Catholic University.

Brad Boelter has been hired as the new publications and public relations director at Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly. Boelter has worked at the school for four years, serving as the coach of its swim team and teaching math, literature and science courses. He and his wife live in Front Royal and their daughter attends the school.

Mike Guevremont replaced Randy Collins as interim president and CEO at the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber (TVRC). John Brauer replaced Guevremont as the chairman of the board of directors. TVRC announced in a release that it is accepting applications for a new president and CEO until close of business on Friday, Aug. 30. Applicants must submit a cover letter, a resume and four references to Brauer, c/o NW Works Inc. at 3085 Shawnee Drive, Winchester, VA 22601. The position description is located on the Chamber's website at regionalchamber.biz.

Joanna Oates was promoted from social worker to director of resident services at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury (SVWC). Oates has worked at SVWC since Aug. 2011. Her new duties include oversight of the SVWC salon, front desk, concierge/activities and transportation. SVWC also added Scott Harvard to its board of trustees. Harvard served as president and CEO of Shore Bank and Shore Financial Corp. for 23 years and currently serves on the board of United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.

The Village at Orchard Ridge announced its partnership with Eastern Mennonite Seminary as a placement site for clinical pastoral education. Theological students from the seminary and people pursuing clinical pastoral education can earn credits toward their denominational ordination requirements and certification as professional chaplains. Clinical pastoral education participants at the retirement community's pastoral program will have assigned roles, including leadership, preaching, teaching and providing one-on-one pastoral care.
