Public meetings for July 29-Aug. 2

The following public meetings are scheduled this week:

Shenandoah County
The Board of Supervisors holds a work session at 4 p.m. Thursday. Supervisors plan to hear a presentation by the National Forest District ranger on the acquisition of private land. The board also will have a discussion with the Shenandoah County Historical Society regarding the graffiti in the historic courthouse. The board also plans to discuss:

  • Geographic Information System fees

  • Animal shelter fees

  • A memorandum of understanding between Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation Department and the School Board for use of facilities

  • The Virginia Local Disability Program

  • A line of credit for the employee purchase program with the school division

The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Mount Jackson

Town Council holds a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday.


Town officials hold a meeting at 5 p.m. Monday to begin work related to a downtown planning grant.

The Downtown Management Team meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to continue work on the planning grant.

Frederick County
The Human Resources Committee meets at 8 a.m. Friday.

The Winchester-Frederick County Economic Development Commission meets at 8 a.m. Friday.

Stephens City

The Planning Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Finance Committee meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
