Daily staff report
Shenandoah County leaders plan to name a new chief administrator next week.
Board of Supervisors Chairman Conrad Helsley on Thursday called a special meeting for 5:05 p.m. Wednesday in the government office building, 600 N. Main St., Woodstock.
Helsley's memo to the board clerk states the purpose of the special meeting is to appoint a county administrator.
The board held a special meeting on Monday to continue interviews with candidates for the top government position. Interviews and discussions related to the appointment have been conducted in closed session as allowed under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. Any action to appoint an administrator must take place in open session.
Acting County Administrator Mary Beth Price has served in the position since Douglas Walker resigned in March to take a job in Albemarle County.
