Mary Curran has joined the Coldwell Banker Premier Homes office in Shepherdstown, W.Va, as a sales associate.

Luray Caverns will be celebrating the 135th anniversary of its discovery on Aug. 10. Open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., grand illumination tours will take guests through candlelit sections of the caverns. After dusk, the caverns will host a fireworks display and a recital from the Luray Singing Tower.

Edward Jones financial advisor Marquetta Mitchell will host a seminar at Cristina's Café, 219 W. King St., Strasburg, at 9 a.m. Aug. 21. She will be joined by guest speaker, Emily Dupre, an associate director and wholesaler for MFS Investment Management, who will be giving a presentation titled, "Staying Calm When the Market Goes Wild." First National Corporation, parent company of First Bank, has reported its sixth consecutive profitable quarter. Net income for the quarter ending June 30 was $261,000 compared to $694,000 for the same period in 2012. Non-performing assets decreased 18 percent and substandard loans declined 35 percent compared to one year ago. Headquartered in Strasburg, First Bank has 10 office locations throughout Shenandoah, Warren and Frederick counties and in Winchester.

Winchester-based wood-alternative decking and railing manufacturer, Trex Company, announced its financial results for the second quarter ending June 30. Net sales for the second quarter totaled $98.6 million compared to $94.3 million for the same period in 2012. Net income was $13.2 million compared to $8.4 million one year ago.
