The Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications for cost share assistance for Agricultural Best Management Practices for 2014. The program aims to improve local water quality and soil health by helping fund environmental projects. This year, the program can fund 100 percent of the cost of installing stream fencing. For more information on available cost share assistance, call the district office at 540-465-2424.

Behavioral Health Services of Shenandoah Valley Medical System Inc. has added a new psychiatrist and therapist to its team. Dr. Antonio Garcia, a board certified psychiatrist, is seeing adult patients at the Martinsburg and Charles Town locations of Behavioral Health Services. Jeanne Reed, a certified licensed clinical social worker, is seeing adolescents and adults at the Martinsburg and Charles Town locations.

United Bankshares has declared a third-quarter dividend of 31 cents per share for shareholders of record as of Sept. 13, 2013. The dividend payout of about $15.6 million on 50.4 million shares is payable Oct. 1, 2013.

Virginia Lottery sales representatives Noel Hicks and Mark Sasser have received awards for their performance in the 2013 fiscal year. Hicks was given the MVP award for the lottery's Shenandoah Valley sales region and Sasser was honored for the highest percentage to goal.

Weichert, Realtors, Front Royal office has been recognized for its July performance, leading the company for new home listings, listings sold and sales. The office also led the region in resale listings, resales and resale revenue units. Sales associates Daryl Stout and Wendy Thrane were individually recognized for their success in July.

Dunkin' Donuts is accepting nominations for local heroes in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., region through Oct. 18. The 10 winners chosen will be awarded $500 and a "coffee and donuts for a year" coupon book. Heroes from Shenandoah, Warren, Frederick and Clarke counties are eligible for the contest. Nominations can be entered online at dunkinheroes.com
