One dead in U.S. 50 crash

By Ryan Cornell

A Winchester man was killed in a fatal crash on U.S. 50 at about 8:30 a.m., Friday, according to Sgt. F.L. (Les) Tyler with the State Police.

Tyler said the man, identified as Thomas Dibrell Crenshaw, 69, was driving a 1994 Jeep Wrangler westbound on U.S. 50 near Robin Hood Circle in Frederick County when his vehicle ran off the road to the right, struck a guardrail and overturned.

"The driver was ejected, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash," Tyler said.

He said alcohol was not involved in the crash. The right lane of westbound U.S. 50 was closed for two hours following the crash.
