The following public meetings are scheduled this week:
The Board of Supervisors meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The board plans to consider making appointments to the Water Resource Advisory and Citizens Advisory committees and to approve an agreement between the supervisors and the School Board regarding the use of facilities. Supervisors plan to discuss a revised lease with the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging for use of space at the Edinburg School and a request for compensation for livestock killed. The board will then meet in closed session to discuss the appointment of public officials to serve on the Shenandoah Valley Partnership, the Tourism Council and the Community Policy Management Team. The closed session also will include discussion of a prospective industry for the county.
The Ordinance Committee and the Planning Commission hold a joint meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the unified development ordinance with consultants.
Town Council and staff meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a work session on the draft of the strategic plan.
The Development Review Committee meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The Planning Commission will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The panel plans to consider a zoning permit for an entrance-corridor review of a proposed, 24-square-foot wall sign at 1105 N. Royal Ave. The commission also will hear reports from the planning director to include an update on the Front Royal Limited Partnership annexation petition and the public workshop for the "Visioning Project" set for Sept. 12. Following the special meeting the commission plans to hold a work session to review ordinance amendments and other projects.
The Planning Commission meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The Finance Committee meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The Public Safety Committee meets at 5 p.m. Thursday.
