A bicyclist on Homestead Drive in Warren County was transported to the hospital after he collided with a vehicle at about 12:44 a.m. Monday, according to State Police Sgt. F.L. (Les) Tyler.
Tyler said the cyclist, Dorsey Ross Peacemaker, 59, of Front Royal, was riding his bicycle southbound on Homestead Drive near Strasburg Road when he crossed into the opposite lane. Tyler said a man driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on the same street.
“He [Peacemaker] was riding in the wrong side of the road and struck the pickup truck,” Tyler said.
Warren County Fire and Rescue Services Capt. Kevin Catlett, the paramedic at the scene of the accident, said Peacemaker suffered a life-threatening injury from the crash and was flown in a helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital.
The crash is being investigated by Trooper D.R. Ayers.
