Sweet Frog, which has a frozen yogurt shop in Winchester and a future location in Woodstock, is celebrating the opening of its 300th store nationwide by collecting canned and non-perishable food donations and donating up to 300,000 meals to hungry children in need. The first 300 people who visit each location on Sunday can enter for a chance to win 100 free 12-ounce cups of yogurt. The store’s food drive and contest are part of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.

Kohl’s is hiring more than 50,000 associates for the holiday season. The nationwide department store anticipates hiring an average of 40 associates per store, about 6,400 seasonal positions at distribution centers and 350 seasonal credit operations positions. The Town of Front Royal Administration Offices and 7-Xpress Convenience Stores have received the Front Royal-Warren County Anti-Litter Council Clean Business Award for the summer and fall of 2013. The framed certificate was given in recognition of the grounds of each business being consistently free of litter and having attractive landscaping and lighting.
A meeting to discuss coyote management will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School in Woodstock. Information about the increasing coyote population, coyote biology, livestock protection and a management program available to area farmers through the USDA will be presented at the meeting. The meeting is open to the public and advance registration is not needed.
