The following public meetings are scheduled:
The Board of Supervisors meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The board plans to hear an update from Shag Keifer, of L.R. Kimball, on work to upgrade the county's E911 telephone system. The board also plans to consider:
- A special-use permit requested by Robert W. Dierling Jr. to operate a small-engine repair business from a private garage at 535 Habron Hollow Road
- A zoning map amendment to change 91.877 acres on the Glendale Property along Orndorff Road, Oranda Road and Timberlake Road from agricultural to industrial use
Supervisors also plan to meet in closed session to discuss appointments to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Tourism Council, the Planning Commission and the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging.
The Planning Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The commission plans to discuss and consider taking action on the proposed Shenandoah County-Strasburg Joint Land-Use Plan. The plan seeks to create a land-use strategy agreed upon by both jurisdictions for the Northern Shenandoah Industrial Park.
The Ordinance Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Planning Commission room at the town municipal building. The committee plans to discuss the timeline and action plan for the review of the town code, with the exception of the zoning ordinance scheduled for the third year of the strategic plan.
The Development Review Committee meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The Finance Committee of the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail Authority Board meets at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The Transition Committee meets at 1 p.m. The full board meets at 2 p.m.
Town Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday. Council plans to hold a public hearing on an ordinance to change the town code section pertaining to wildlife management. Council may consider approval of a bid for the construction of Happy Creek Trail and a related change to the current fiscal budget. Council may consider appointing voting delegates to the Virginia Municipal League. Council plans to meet in closed session to discuss the possible investment of public funds and to consult with legal counsel.
The Community Policy Management Team meets at 1 p.m. Monday.
The Development Review and Regulations Committee meets at 7 p.m. Thursday. The panel plans to discuss a request to increase the maximum height for structures in certain zoning districts and potential revisions to landscaping requirements as recommended by the Business Friendly Committee.
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday.
The Historic Preservation Committee meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
