Police chase through town ends in crash
Warren County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Front Royal woman late Monday after chasing her car through town.
The chase ended with the car crashing into a utility pole at Criser Road and Park View Drive, according to a news release issued by Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron.
The driver, Bellinder Kassandra Jackson, 22, of 476 Hill St., was charged with felony eluding, resisting arrest and drunk driving.
Jackson was uninjured in the crash, but an ambulance took an 18-year-old passenger to Warren Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, McEathron said.
McEathron said the chase began when deputy Stephen Collins attempted to stop a small black passenger car on Commerce Avenue for speeding and driving erratically. Jackson refused to stop and took off through town until the car hit the utility pole, according to McEathron.
Jackson was being held without bond in the Warren County jail as of Wednesday afternoon.
Online court records show a lengthy list of traffic-related charges filed against Jackson since 2009, most of them for speeding or seat belt violations.
