This week’s public meetings
The Tourism Council meets at noon Tuesday at the Woodstock CafÃ© on Main Street. The panel plans to hear updates on the Artisan Trail and Fields of Gold and to discuss a spring event.
The Board of Zoning Appeals meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The Board of Supervisors meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The board plans to hold public hearings beginning at 7:30 p.m. on:
- A proposed change to the zoning ordinance to add batch-mix asphalt plants to the list of uses allowed by permit in the industrial district
- A proposed modification to the conditional-use permit issued in 2006 to Daryl and Vicki Davison to build a 22-848-square-foot addition to Hidden Springs Senior Living assisted living facility
- A funding application to the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program for the design and construction of phase I of the Appalachian Trail Connector
The board also plans consider taking action on a resolution that requests the U.S. Congress work to open the Shenandoah National Park. The board may approve the 2014-2015 Rural Addition priority list and discuss the fiscal 2014-15 VDOT Revenue Sharing Program.
The Front Royal Golf Club Advisory Committee meets at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Social Services Board meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The Board of Zoning Appeals meets at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday. The board plans to hold a public meeting on an appeal by Mary Albaugh Good of a decision by the zoning administrator concerning property at 120 Brush Creek Road.
The Handley Regional Library Board meets 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Sanitation Authority meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The School Board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The Finance Committee meets at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The Metropolitan Planning Organization Board meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The panel plans to hold a public hearing on proposed revisions to the county zoning ordinance pertaining to the transfer of development rights, including an update on the density table, a provision for contiguous lots and an addition of a conversion rate for receiving properties. The commission may take action on a request submitted by Pennoni Associates Inc. to make a minor revision to proffers with the rezoning of Governors Hill on Millwood Pike near Sulphur Springs Road. The commission also plans to discuss proposed revisions to the zoning ordinance to increase the maximum heights in certain districts.

The Winchester Regional Airport Authority meets at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Town Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The Historic Preservation Committee meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The Public Works Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the Water and Sewer Committee at 6 p.m.
The Newtown Heritage Festival Committee meets at 7 p.m. Thursday.
