Suspects identified in home invasion

By Joe Beck

The Warren County Sheriff's Office has identified two male suspects who have been sought since late Oct. 17 in a home invasion left the victim with head injuries requiring hospitalization.

Sheriff Daniel McEathron said Wednesday the suspects have not been arrested yet, but charges of breaking and entering and assault are pending against them. McEathron said other charges may also follow.

"As of right now, total charges haven't been determined, but it is a breaking and entering and assault," McEathron said in an interview.

"They appear to be from the valley around here," he said of the suspects.

In an earlier news release, McEathron said a deputy was dispatched to 58 Ace Court at 11:25 p.m. in response to a report of someone breaking and entering at that address.

McEathron said the victim, a 20-year-old man who lives at residence, was bleeding from head wounds. The victim told a deputy that two males broke into his home through a basement door and attacked him with what be believed to be a tire iron, McEathron said.

The victim was taken to the Warren Memorial Hospital emergency room where several staples were used to close up his head wounds, McEathron said. The victim was later released and taken back to his residence, McEathron said.

One of the suspects was described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and wearing a sweater and blue jeans. The other suspect is believed to be 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

McEathron said the case appears to have been an isolated incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator William Smoot at 635-7100.
