A Winchester man has been charged with reckless driving following a two-vehicle crash at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in Stephens City.

Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler said Christian Touchstone, 26, of Winchester, was driving a 2005 Ford Escape down Main Street in Stephens City.

“He was traveling southbound on Route 11 when he crossed the center lane and went into the northbound lane and struck a 2001 Dodge pickup,” Tyler said.

Tyler said the driver of the pickup, Floyd Hartley, 65, of Stephens City, was transported along with Touchstone to the Winchester Medical Center after the crash.

Tyler said the crash was investigated by Trooper B.M. Phillips.

“And based on his investigation, he ordered a summons for Mr. Touchstone for reckless driving,” Tyler said. “Trooper Phillips stated that fatigue was a factor in the crash.”

Units of the Stephens City Fire and Rescue Company assisted at the scene.
