Daily Staff Report

A Winchester man was arrested Sunday night after three homes were broken into earlier that morning.

Jose Antonio Gomez Giron, 21, of Winchester, was arrested and charged with three felony counts of breaking and entering, according to a release sent by the Winchester Police Department on Monday.

The release states that officers were called to the 600 block of Smithfield Avenue in Winchester at about 8 a.m. Sunday for a reported breaking and entering. Victims told the officers that they had woken up at about 5:30 a.m. to a male in their bedroom who had his underwear around his knees. The male also entered a neighboring residence, states the release.

Another victim, located in the 300 block of Avon Court, told police that a male had entered his home through the kitchen window and had started to walk upstairs when the victim saw him. He said the male then left the house in a gray Pontiac Grand Prix.

An officer located a car matching the description of the suspect's vehicle in front of a residence in the 900 block of North Braddock Street. Three felony warrants were obtained against Gomez Giron and he was arrested at about 8 p.m.

The release states that no items were taken during the incidents and that the case remains under investigation.
