The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday. The Planning Commission holds a public hearing jointly with Town Council on a proposed ordinance to annex property into Mount Jackson. The commission convenes the regular meeting after the public hearing. The commission plans to consider the annexation ordinance. The commission also plans to discuss setting a public hearing for a special-use permit requested by Hammond Real Estate on behalf of Family Dollar Store to build a new store at 5450 Main St.
Town Council holds committee meetings beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Arthur L. Hildreth Jr. Municipal Building, 9418 John Sevier Road. The Tourism, Economic Development and Historic Preservation Committee plans to discuss concepts for a downtown pocket park. The Public Works committee plans to discuss options for solid waste removal and trash pickup that may include recycling service. The Finance and Personnel Committee may consider appointments to the History Overlay District Review Board.

The commission also may consider a request from Lawson and Silek PLC, on behalf of Carmeuse Lime, to allow for the construction of a 193-foot tall kiln at the existing Clear Brook quarry off Quarry Lane. The panel may discuss a master development plan for the Townes at Tasker, submitted by Pennoni Associates Inc. to develop a 49-unit townhouse development on the east side of Tasker Road and north of Rutherford Lane south of Interstate 81 Exit 310.
