Columbia Gas of Virginia has donated $15,000 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The donation is a result of the company committing to donate $10 to Virginia Toys for Tots units for each customer who enrolled in its free paperless Direct e-Bill service between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30.

Lenhart Obenshain has announced that seven of its attorneys have been recognized in the 2013 "Legal Elite" survey conducted annually by Virginia Business magazine. Patrick C. Asplin, Brian K. Brake, John W. Flora, Lisa Anne Hawkins, Jeffrey G. Lenhart, Mark D. Obenshain and Cathleen P. Welsh were among the 858 lawyers recognized out of 30,481 active Virginia State Bar members.

Grain producers planning to build or upgrade storage facilities and permanent drying and handling equipment are eligible to receive Farm Storage Facility Loans offered through the Farm Service Agency. The loans must be approved prior to site preparation, equipment purchase or construction and must be secured by a promissory note and security agreement. Farmers and producers interested in participating in the Conservation Stewardship Program, offered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service, have until Jan. 17 to submit their applications. The program encourages producers to install conservation enhancements to make positive changes in soil quality, soil erosion, water quality, water quantity, air quality, plant resources, animal resources and energy and can earn them higher payments for higher performance.
