Public hearing on Front Royal boundary line scheduled

Daily staff report

An agreement to relocate a portion of the boundary line between the town of Front Royal and Warren County will be considered at a public hearing by the Front Royal Town Council next month.

The hearing, scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Warren County Government Center's board meeting room, will consider relocating the portion just south of Happy Creek Road and east of its intersection with Shenandoah Shores Road.

According to a release sent by the Town of Front Royal on Friday, the proposed new boundary would include within the town about 84 acres of land currently outside the town's boundary.

The release states that this land includes portions of the former Rutherford Lands property purchased by the county for the future second middle school site, the former Ramsey Inc. and NVA Properties parcels purchased by the Economic Development Authority for the Leach Run Parkway and the former Duncan property purchased by Warren Memorial Hospital for a future hospital site.
