Edward Jones Financial Advisor Marquetta Mitchell will host a seminar at Cristina's Cafe at 9 a.m., Feb. 19. Dora Buck, principal broker and co-owner of Sager Real Estate, will serve as guest speaker and present about local real estate, government and conventional financing available and how real estate is changing. Shentel has announced its 2013 year-end customer results and projected capital expenditure budget for fiscal year 2014. The company announced that its net postpaid subscriber additions increased by 50.4 percent to a record 6,054 customers for the fourth quarter. Its prepaid net additions increased by 4,378 customers in the fourth quarter. Shentel anticipates that its fiscal year 2014 capital expenditure will total about $74 million. The 2013 earnings call is scheduled for 8 a.m. Feb. 28.

After a number of delays due to inclement weather, Strasburg's Downtown Enhancement Project is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., Monday. Work on the project will start on the south side of King Street from Fort Street and move toward Holliday Street. Work will then shift to the north side of King Street from Fort Street to Holliday Street. Parking and pedestrian access in these active construction areas will be impacted.

Mike O'Dell, financial advisor with Edward Jones, has opened a new Winchester branch office at 2270 Valor Drive, Suite 101. O'Dell is working at the office with Senior Branch Office Administrator Jamey Keefer.

Bruce L. Green, regional vice president of Weichert Realtors, has recognized its Front Royal office for outstanding performance in December, leading the region in resales.

Manassas-based private jet management and charter company Metropolitan Aviation has announced the hiring of Tony Massinon as its new director of operations.
