A Frederick County man was arrested Sunday and charged in the assault of two women in Winchester, the first on Dec. 21 and the second on Friday.

Miguel Angel Valle, 21, is accused of assaulting the women in the Preston Place Town Homes complex on Brigstock Drive, according to Lt. Donnie Lang of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

On Dec. 21, “a female returned to her residence to find a Hispanic male hiding in her apartment,” a news release stated.

Lang said the male attempted to take a knife away from the victim, and she was cut in the struggle.

“Her injuries were very minor,” Lang said. “They were superficial wounds, but still, they were wounds.”

In Friday’s attack, the woman was in bed when a nude Hispanic male attacked her, the press release stated.

The victim’s injuries were also very minor, and no knife was involved. She was struck in the face during the struggle, Lang said.

According to the release, the woman described the attacker as heavy set, about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 25-30 years of age, with a buzz cut hair style. uthorities were able to track Valle down based on this description.

“We added extra patrols to the area due to the incidents, and one of the deputies happened to observe a subject that matched the descriptions,” Lang said.

The deputy then struck up a conversation with Valle, Lang continued, during which Valle articulated information that led authorities to believe he was the person involved in both attacks.

“[Valle] has no fixed address, as far as we can tell, but he comes in and out of an apartment in the complex, so he is familiar with the area,” Lang added.

Valle is being held without bond at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.
