Sheriff’s Office investigates horse’s injury

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an injury to a horse’s face last week on Earl Mason Lane in Mauertown.

Despite some online reports that the horse was shot, Sheriff’s Office officials said they could not confirm the injury is a gunshot wound. The horse survived the incident.

Capt. Wesley Dellinger described the injury as “a laceration to the face of the horse.”

Dellinger asked anyone who has seen suspicious activity around the pasture where the horse was injured to call the sheriff’s office at 459-6100.
