A Front Royal woman was charged with driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash on Route 11 in Toms Brook on Thursday.

According to Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler, authorities were called to the scene about a half mile south of Hauns Lane at around 4:35 p.m.

Elyse Rachel Csillag, 38, of Front Royal, was driving the 2013 Mazda four-door vehicle southbound on Route 11 when she ran off the road to the right, Tyler said.

“She then overcorrected, and came back across the northbound lanes and off the roadway to the left and struck a utility trailer,” he said.

The vehicle then hit a retaining wall before it came to a stop on its side, resting against the porch of a residence, he added.

Trooper J.T. Custer investigated the scene and charged Csillag with driving under the influence, Tyler said.

The Shenandoah County Department of Fire and Rescue and the Toms Brook Volunteer Fire Department assisted Custer at the scene.
