The Town of Front Royal is inviting local business owners and operators to its business forum at 6 p.m. March 27 in the second-floor Council Chambers of the Administration Building, 102 East Main St., Front Royal. The forum is an opportunity to discuss issues with town staff related to conducting business in Front Royal and discuss ways the town can improve business relations and assist local business owners.

Winchester-based realtors Jan & Dan Team are hosting a home d├ęcor and design symposium at the George Washington Hotel from 10 a.m. to noon March 15. The free event will feature local designers including Linda Bartlett, Rebecca Lipscomb, Deborah Langfitt, and Laura Larrick Walker. RSVP is required at Janice@janicecopeland.com or 540-931-5050.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced its Commodity Credit Corporation lending rates for March. The corporation's borrowing rate-based charge is 0.125 percent and its interest rate for commodity and marketing assistance loans disbursed in March is 1.125 percent, both of which are unchanged from February. Interest rates for Farm Storage Facility Loans approved for March are 2.125 percent with 7-year loan terms, 2.75 percent with 10-year loan terms, 2.875 percent with 12-year loan terms and 3.125 percent for 15-year Sugar Storage Facility Loans. Edward Jones Financial Adviser Marquetta Mitchell will host a seminar at Cristina's Cafe at 9 a.m. March 19. The seminar will feature Janet Heishman, owner of Cedar Hill Gardens, who will give gardening tips and advice on winter damage, diseases and bugs. Guests are asked to RSVP by March 14 by calling 540-465-2605. Cristina's Cafe is located at 219 W. King St., Strasburg.

Bruce L. Green, regional vice president of Weichert, Realtors, recognized the company's Front Royal office for its performance in 2013. The office led the company for new home listings and the region for listings and listings sold. Elizabeth Waller led the region in listings sold and Daryl Stout led for new home listings.
