Andrew L. Baker, correctional officer at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center, has been named Frederick County’s Employee of the Month for March. According to a release, Officer Baker was honored for his work ethic, dedication to his job and versatility to work any post assignment.

Edward Jones Financial Adviser Marquetta Mitchell is hosting a seminar at Cristina’s Café at 9 a.m. April 16. Kimberly Murray, economic development and planning manager for Strasburg, will speak about projects such as downtown revitalization, annexation, streetscape, zoning and tourism. The Hampton Inn & Suites of Woodstock has announced the promotion of Holly McCabe to general manager and Stephanie Cabe to assistant general manager of the hotel. McCabe has worked at the hotel since May 2009 and Cabe has worked there since February 2010.

OakCrest Companies has announced promotions within the company’s senior management team. John Barker, vice president of OakCrest Builders Inc., has been named president of the builders division, and Chuck Jarrett, property manager for OakCrest Properties LLC, has been named president of the properties division. Barker joined OakCrest Builders in 2006 and Jarrett joined OakCrest Properties in 2001.

Carmeuse Lime & Stone has selected Berryville-based Caldwell & Santmyer Inc. to construct its new administration, shop and store building as part of its recently announced manufacturing expansion project. The project is scheduled to be completed by June.

The Lynn Care Center, part of Warren Memorial Hospital, won “Success Story of the Year” at its company, Rehab Management Inc., for the excellent patient care demonstrated while treating an elderly woman who sustained multiple injuries in a car accident on the way to the airport to return to Germany.

Attorney Gerardo Delgado of the Solomon Law Group has recently earned the rank of 32nd Degree of the Scottish Rite as a member of the Masons at Albert Pike Lodge No. 3 and the Scottish Rite in Washington, D.C.

Rhonda Shade of ERA Real Estate was named a coodinator of the year finalist for her accomplishments in 2013. Shade, an office coordinator at ERA OakCrest Realty in Winchester, was one of only three finalists nationwide.

Sally Bennett, relocation director for ERA OakCrest Realty, has earned the nationally recognized Military Relocation Professional certification. This certification is given to real estate agents who help military personnel and veterans find housing solutions that best meet their needs and allow them to take full advantage of their military benefits.

Farm Service Agency State Executive Director J. Calvin Parrish is encouraging farmers and ranchers who anticipate participating in FSA programs to report any changes in their farm records or business structure to their local FSA office before program sign-up begins. He said it’s especially important for producers who suffered livestock, livestock grazing, honeybee, farm-raised fish or tree and vine losses for 2011, 2012, 2013 or 2014, and may be eligible for assistance through one of the four disaster programs.
