Early morning crash sends two to medical center

Daily staff report

Two patients were transported by air and ground to Winchester Medical Center after a collision on Stonewall Jackson Highway in Warren County early Friday morning.

According to Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler, Connor Marie Grieve, 21, of Luray, was flown to the medical center after her 2001 Toyota SUV collided with a 2010 Chevy van operated by Victor J. Cecci, who was transported to the medical center by ground.

Tyler said the SUV was in the southbound lanes and crossed the center line, striking the northbound van at around 5:50 a.m. about half a mile north of Route 607.

Trooper K.J. Orr investigated the crash.

Tyler said Grieve was charged with reckless driving. Orr advised that fatigue may have been a factor in the cause of the crash, Tyler added.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Fire and Rescue services and members of the Virginia State Police Reconstruction Team assisted Orr at the scene.
