FRONT ROYAL — Pam Kidwell, clerk of Warren County General District Court, is scheduled to appear in general district court at 10 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of misdemeanor assault.
Kidwell, of Front Royal, was served April 12 with a summons to appear in court on the charge, according to court documents.
The summons is accompanied by a criminal complaint signed by Penny Heflin on April 12.
The complaint states: “Pam Kidwell walked out from the house while I was on the porch talking to dispatch, said this is her son’s house.”
The complaint goes on to say that Kidwell called Heflin a profane name and told Heflin she “needed to get out.”
Kidwell then grabbled Heflin’s left arm and called Heflin’s daughter a profane name, according to the complaint.
In a brief interview Thursday, Kidwell denied she had done anything wrong.
“I have not been convicted, and I have not been tried,” Kidwell said.
“I definitely did not assault her,” Kidwell said of Heflin. “I did not grab her wrist or anything.”
The case is the third time Kidwell has faced an assault charge in less than a year. The first two cases, filed Sept. 6, were dismissed on Oct. 30, according to general district court records.
The complainant in each of the two earlier cases is listed as Dennis Eugene Burke.
