Retail lots planned for Woodstock

By Ryan Cornell

A retail development coming to two corners of an intersection on Reservoir Road in Woodstock could bring along new business.

Peter Wray, principal broker and partner at Staunton-based Triangle Realtors, said the properties located at 40 W. Reservoir Road consist of about 5 acres and 1.7 acres.

"It is, in my opinion, the best site there in Woodstock," he said. "From a standpoint of quick and easy access off of Interstate 81 and being right there at the traffic light across from the entrance into Walmart and Lowe's.

"This is what we do, and we do this throughout central and western Virginia, where we develop these prime parcels at traffic lights that we see as the best parcels in the town or city," he added.

According to Wray, concepts have included a 14,000-square-foot retail building with a drive-thru, though he said there are many potential layouts depending on finalized deals with the interested parties leasing the space.

Triangle Realtors obtained the properties at the beginning of the year, he said, and does not have a definitive project timeline yet.

He said they're currently in the process of talking and negotiating with interested parties.

"We have been talking to people now for several months, so it's early in terms of saying, 'OK, the building will be available at x-date,' but we have been doing our preleasing discussions for a few months now," he said.

Anyone interested in the properties can contact Wray at 540-849-9020.
