Daily staff report
The Virginia Department of Transportation plans to close part of Dismal Hollow Road (Va. 647) in Warren County beginning Thursday night to install pipe.
Work is scheduled to take place from 7 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Oregon Hollow Road, according to a VDOT news release issued Tuesday. VDOT expects the road to reopen at 5 a.m. with flaggers controlling one lane of traffic. All work is weather permitting.
During the closure, signs and message boards will direct drivers on a detour route. VDOT advises eastbound traffic to use Va. 624 west to U.S. 522 then follow John Marshall Highway (Va. 55) east to Va. 647. Westbound traffic should take Va. 55 west to U.S. 522, then Va. 624 east to Va. 647.
