Daily staff report
The Warren County Public Schools system has announced changes to its administration for the upcoming school year.
Lori Layman has been hired as principal of E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School in Front Royal, replacing Margaret Holmes, who plans to retire.
Stephanie Gregg, a reading teacher at E. Wilson Morrison, will replace Layman as assistant principal.
Nina Helmick, previously a reading teacher at Ressie Jeffries Elementary School in Front Royal, will replace Sandra Windon as assistant principal. Windon has resigned the position, effective June 30.
The School Board also announced at its Thursday night meeting its intention of hiring a new dean of students at the Brighter Futures Learning Center. The position of dean will take the place of the current position of behavior specialist.
The non-administrative position of behavior specialist is a 12-month position that will become an 11-month dean position to include a stipend with no real fiscal impact on the public school budget, according to materials issued by the School Board. Learning center activities over the summer previously handled by the behavior specialist will be absorbed by existing staff.
