Three arrested after Front Royal heroin bust

Members of the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug Task Force arrested three men during a heroin bust at the home of two of the defendants on June 26, Front Royal police disclosed late Friday.

The drug task force executed a search warrant at 410 Kerfoot Ave. at 9:30 p.m. or 10 p.m. and arrested Brandon Gibbs-Brown, 21, and Cody Gibbs-Brown, 19, and Joseph “Joey” Allen Williams, 20, according to a news release issued by Front Royal Police Chief Norman Shiflett.

Both Gibbs-Browns live at the address where the search warrant was executed. Williams’ address is unknown.

All three were charged with distribution of heroin after members of the drug force seized 97 bags of heroin with an estimated street value of $3,000 at the residence. All three are scheduled to appear in Warren County General District Court at 10 a.m. July 15.

Sgt. Crystal Cline said all three were released on bail after their arrests.

Distribution of heroin carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Cline and Shiflett said the arrests came after a lengthy investigation by the task force.

“I don’t know how long, but I would say it was a two- or three-month-long investigation,” Cline said in an interview.

Cline said all three defendants were cooperative during their arrests. She said further charges are possible but unlikely to involve any additional defendants.
