Front Royal man dies in crash
A Front Royal man died late Monday night in a single car crash on U.S. 340.
Sgt. F.L. (Les) Tyler of the Virginia State Police identified the victim as Randall Craig Fix II, 25.
Tyler said Fix was driving his 1998 Honda Prelude north on U.S. 340 about a half mile south of Va. 605 at 11:40 p.m. when the car ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and veered off the roadway to the left. The car then struck an embankment and overturned, Tyler said.
Tyler said Fix, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died as a result of injuries from the crash. Trooper K.J. Orr investigated the crash and determined that speed and failure to maintain proper control of the car contributed to the crash, Tyler said.
