Strasburg warns of road work, parking restriction
Daily staff report
Strasburg will prohibit parking on part of King Street next week so construction crews can repave the road as part of the downtown streetscape project.
All work is expected to occur from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking will be restricted from Capon Street to Holliday Street from July 28 to Aug. 1 until 4 p.m. each day when crews remove the No Parking signs. Vehicles parked along the street section may be towed. Motorists should expect delays while crews work on the project.
Crews are scheduled to mill the street on Monday and Tuesday. Workers with the Virginia Department of Transportation plan to install underground cable and signal equipment at King and Holliday streets. Paving by Stuart M. Perry is set to begin Wednesday and continue through Thursday. Crews will pave portions of side streets off the main road so parking may be limited. Crews will paint lines on the street on Friday.
