Armed robbery suspects sought

By Joe Beck

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three suspects who took $356 and a cell phone from a man who reported they beat and robbed him at knifepoint Sunday.

The victim, Pedro Rosario, told Sheriff’s Office deputies that he got in a vehicle during the afternoon around the Main Street gazebo in Front Royal. The vehicle is described as a 1990s sport utility vehicle, possibly silver or gray and possibly a Subaru or a Saturn, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Rosario told the sheriff’s deputies that the vehicle was occupied by a male driver and two passengers, one male and one female.

Rosario reported that he and the three other occupants traveled to Milldale Road where the male passenger hit him in the face and held a knife to Rosario’s neck. At the same time, the female passenger reached into Rosario’s pants pocket and took the cash and cell phone, according to the news release.

The suspects ordered Rosario out of the car, and he later sought help from a passing motorist, who called the Sheriff’s Office around 6:52 p.m.

The male driver of the car is described as 20 to 25 years old, wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt and tattoos on both arms. The other male occupant was reported to have short blonde hair, about 35 years old and wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans. The female occupant had long blonde hair, wore a black spaghetti string top shirt and blue jeans and had tattoos on both arms, the news release stated.

Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron said in an interview Thursday that the case remains under investigation.

“I haven’t heard of any arrests,” McEathron said of the suspects. “As far as I know, they’re still at large.”

Anybody with information about the case is asked to contact Investigator Brandon H. Darr of the Sheriff’s Office at 635-7100.
