A Modern Woodmen of America representative of Broadway, Gaylin Sommers recently participated in the Investment Leaders Conference in Rock Island, Illinois, at Woodmen’s home office.

Only a select group of Modern Woodmen representatives were invited to the conference, according to a news release.

Virginia Living recently selected Lord Fairfax Community College as one of the Commonwealth’s Top High Schools and Colleges. The college was also an Editor’s Choice for one of Virginia’s Innovators in Education.

First Bank and Trust Company entered a sponsorship agreement for the naming rights of a new pavilion at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell. The company will work with 4-H and FFA students showcasing their animals while earning scholarships at the State Fair of Virginia.
