Students who drop out of high school or stay in school longer than four years count against a school’s on-time graduation rate, Greg Drescher, assistant superintendent of instruction for Warren County Public Schools, clarified in an email Thursday in regard to a story that appeared in Thursday’s newspaper. In the 2013-14 school year, Skyline High School in Front Royal had a few more instances of students dropping out or staying in school a year longer. Special diplomas did not contribute to the on-time graduation rate.
