Front Royal man wins $100K in Virginia Lottery

FRONT ROYAL — Gambling is all about luck and luck might just be found in Front Royal, where a man won $100,000 on a Virginia Lottery Scratcher, the second big win the town has seen in two weeks.

Front Royal resident Aaron Jackson took the top prize in the 10X the Money scratch game that he purchased at the self-service lottery machine at the Food Lion at 260 Remount Road, according to a news release. Jackson is the fifth player to claim the $100,000 prize, which means there are three unclaimed top prizes remaining.

Jackson said he plans to use his winnings to take care of his family.

Earlier this month, Front Royal resident Linda Jenkins won a $1 million prize in the Virginia Lottery’s Millions to the Max scratch card game. She bought the game at the 7-Eleven store at 2000 Shenandoah Ave. in Front Royal.

The Virginia Lottery generates $1.4 million daily for Virginia’s public schools, totaling more than $538.6 million in the 2014 fiscal year.
