Holtzman Oil to buy area company

Holtzman Oil Corporation owner Bill Holtzman said this week that he will be increasing the size and range of his company at the beginning of 2015 with the purchase of Cline Energy of Harrisonburg.

Cline Energy owns 18 gas stations and truck stops in Rockingham and Page counties. Holtzman Oil, headquartered in Mount Jackson and one of the largest employers in Shenandoah County, supplies gasoline to about 150 gas stations in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, as well as heating oil for residents in the region. Holtzman Oil will expand its 250-person workforce by retaining Cline Energy employees.

Holtzman said the purchase makes sense for his business and should increase the delivery of gasoline by 20 million gallons.

“We are an Exxon supplier and Cline Energy owns Exxon stations,” Holtzman said. “It’s just a good fit for us.”

The purchase price for the Harrisonburg company was not disclosed.

Holtzman also owns Holtzman Propane, Valley Ice, Holtzman Equipment and Construction and several Burger King and Denny’s locations in the area.
