Tom McGloom

First National Corp., the parent company of First Bank, announced the opening of a new loan production office in Harrisonburg.

Jeffery R. Smith has been named vice president/business development officer, and Thomas M. McGloon has been named vice president/mortgage loan officer of the First Mortgage Division.

Smith, a Dayton native, joined First National Corp. in September. He brings more than 23 years of local market experience in both commercial and mortgage lending. He is a graduate of Turner Ashby High School and Bridgewater College, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is also a graduate of the UVA School of Bank Management offered by the Virginia Bankers Association. He and his wife, Pam, will live in Harrisonburg.

McGloon joined the First Mortgage Division in August. He brings more than 10 years of expertise in mortgage banking with the first-time homebuyers, conventional and government loan programs and construction-to-perm loan programs. He is a graduate of James Madison University, where he majored in political science. Tom and his wife, Brenda, have been actively involved with the Shenandoah Valley United Soccer League. They live in Harrisonburg.

The new office is located at 727-C E. Market St., Harrisonburg in the Shannon Hill Office Complex.
