Two facing car theft charges

Front Royal police have arrested two town residents and charged them with grand larceny linked to a vehicle stolen on Nov. 30.

Police Chief Norman Shiflett identified one of the defendants as Brandon Powell, 19, and the other as a 16-year-old boy.

Shiflett said the two were pulling on car doors as they walked along streets. They found one vehicle in the 700 block of Braxton Road that had been left unlocked with a key in the center console, Shiflett said.

The vehicle was found a few days later in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Anyone with further information about the case is asked to call Front Royal police Detective David Fogle at 636-2208.
