United Way reports increase of campaign funds
The United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley announced Friday it has raised 71 percent of its goal for a fundraising campaign to help local health and human care services.
In its second public report meeting Friday morning, campaign volunteer leaders reported having raised $806,600, $66,028 of which was raised through its Combined Federal Campaign, according to a news release from the organization.
This year’s campaign goal is $1.13 million, up from the $1.1 million the organization raised last year. At the time of its first public report meeting on Oct. 31, the campaign had raised $625,986.
The final campaign update meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the United Way/Our Health Building, 329 N. Cameron St., Winchester.
