Brief lane closures set for Frederick County Sunday

The Virginia Department of Transportation announced there would be “slow roll” lane closures Sunday morning on Interstate 81 in Frederick County.

A “slow roll” is a brief lane closure where traffic moves slowly through the closure zone in a controlled fashion.

The lane closures will occur at mile marker 322, just north of the Clearbrook exit at 7:45 a.m. and should take 15 minutes or less to complete. The operation will give crews time to install overhead utility lines crossing the interstate.

Traffic will be controlled northbound starting at mile marker 318 and southbound starting at mile marker one in West Virginia. Flaggers and the Virginia State Police will be involved in the operation.
