Warren County Treasurer Wanda F. Bryant plans to run for another term.

Bryant announced Tuesday her intentions to seek the Democratic Party nomination and to run for a fourth term in the constitutional office.

Election Day is Nov. 3.

Bryant, 68, began working in the Treasurer’s Office almost 30 years ago. She was elected to her first term as treasurer in November 2003 and took office Jan. 1, 2004.

“I would like to continue to serve the community,” Bryant said when asked why she wants to serve a fourth term.

In a written statement, Bryant said “it has been my privilege to serve the community as Treasurer.”

Bryant noted that in the past 11 years, the Treasurer’s Office has worked on streamlining the process to improve efficiency and success in tax collections. Bryant stated she has appreciated working with the other county agencies and departments as well as with the Board of Supervisors.

Bryant recently completed her master treasurer certification with the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service and the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia through the University of Virginia.

Bryant and her husband, Raymond, have two daughters, grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
