Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl?

Who is going to win the NFL Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday — the New England Patriots or the Seattle Seahawks? Here’s what some local residents are saying:

Ronald Armentrout, 32, of Mount Jackson
“Seattle. I don’t like the Patriots coach [Bill Belichick] and quarterback [Tom Brady]. I just don’t like the Patriots.”

Cheri Wright, 42, of Edinburg
“I guess I’m gonna go with the Seahawks. They have something to prove. But Tom Brady is so good looking, so I can see him mesmerizing the other players. If they’re looking into his eyes, they might fumble the ball. I really think it’s going to be a slow-moving game, though.”

Karen Davis, 23, of Strasburg
“I’m probably honestly not even going to watch the Super Bowl. I’ll watch it for the commercials and the halftime show, but that’s about it. I’m rooting for the real star [halftime performer Katy Perry] of the show.”

Jared Kerns, 23, of Woodstock
“Well, my team [Dallas Cowboys] didn’t make it to the Super Bowl, so I’m not really rooting for anyone.”

Roy Billhimer, 87, of Broadway
“Some reason I don’t have any feeling either way. It doesn’t matter that much to me. But you know what, I’m leaning toward Seattle because the quarterback [Russell Wilson] is a young feller and he came back and beat my [second favorite team] Packers.”
